A Long-Awaited Reunion After 22 Years
Last Sunday, April 6, 2025, was a truly special day that will stay close to our hearts for years to come. It was a day filled with joy, nostalgia, and a meaningful act of giving back to the place that shaped us – Government Higher Secondary School, Pannermadai.
Along with my dear friends and batchmates from 1996 to 2003, we gathered at our school campus for an alumni meet. We were meeting after 22 years, and the excitement was beyond words. The moment we stepped into the familiar grounds, a flood of memories came rushing back.
Giving Back to Our Roots
What made the occasion even more memorable was the purpose we came together for — to donate an RO water purifier to our school, ensuring that the current and future students have access to clean, safe drinking water.
The donation was warmly received by the Headmaster and the dedicated teachers of the school. Their heartfelt appreciation reminded us how even a small contribution can make a big impact. It felt great to do something for the place that gave us the foundation for who we are today.
Reconnecting and Recreating Memories
I was very happy to see all my school friends after such a long time, and we spent quality time together. We recreated some of our old memories — sitting under the same trees, walking through the familiar corridors, and laughing over our childhood mischiefs. It felt like stepping into a time machine.
After the formal part of the function, the real magic began — we spent hours sharing stories, catching up on life, and reliving the golden days of our school life. From the strict teachers we once feared to the carefree moments we now cherish, every memory brought smiles and laughter. It felt like no time had passed at all.
A Blend of Nostalgia and Gratitude
The day was a beautiful mix of reunion and gratitude, and it reminded us that while we may have gone in different directions in life, our roots remain the same. Giving back to our school was not just a gesture — it was a token of love and respect.
